My garden variety BB Pearl can be tethered. Never tried it, but I found an online procedure to set it up.

AT&T's intent to control EVERY aspect of cell phone ownership is one reason why I won't switch from T-Mobile. I'd like to, AT&T has much more/better phones. T-Mobile doesn't try to limit tethering (or charge more money), and they don't disable aps like BB Maps THAT COME INSTALLED ON YOUR PHONE. Damn that pisses me off, then they try to sell you their own mapping program. But my hatred of AT&T runs deep, back years ago to when they were the only long distance provider available in my area, and raped us on charges. VoIP fixed that problem.
