In The Porsche 911 Performance Handbook (Bruce Anderson) it appears to group the US and Canadian cars, turbo and otherwise, as the same engine spec and engine types. I don't have a copy of Wayne's book that you reference, so I can't say one way or the other, just saying what Bruce has published.
