I suppose if the food was a live chicken or squarrel, then yes, it would damage the food (if dead is damaged).
All a microwave does is excite the water molocules by causing them to vibrate at the frequency of the radio waves, & that causes friction of the molocules which causes them to heat up - now i'm going to go and enjoy my burrito
