The smell is that the Dems are doing somemajor fighting with each other. You have the Clintons vs the Kenndys. The Pelosi's trying to talk some sense into the Obama camp. And you have the fighting over the VP in the Obama camp.

Every time Hillary mentions how much she loves Obama she looks like she is getting a stick shoved up her butt. She probably would like to go away and climb under a rock rather than help Obama. However if Teddy is on his death bed come convention time and her spys tell her so, I would not put it past her to try and steal the nomination. The Bill and Hill convention speeches are sops to them, so that they don't go around saying bad things about Obama. When Bill was asked if Obama was ready to be Prez....Bill hemmed and hawed and quicklu changed the subject by distracting the interviewer, which was easy to do for him.

Nancy Pelosi knows that if Obama picks a ding bat like Timmy Kaine of VA for a running mate Obama might as well put his tail between his legs and go back to Chicago. She knows Obama needs a MOderate to win, and she is about winning. Nancy got to be Speaker because she is a BIG FUND RAISER....and if she is touting a conservative Dem Congressman from Crawford Texas who is on the Budget Commitee she is having trouble with those donors writing checks.

In the Obama camp you have the campaign professional David Axelrod trying to keep things together. Just to keep Obama from stepping on his dick is job enough. Axelrod knows that Obama needs somebody to balance the ticket out with a somewhat moderate guy with some experience. The Kennedys want their boy Timmy Kaine. after all Liberal credientails means more than winning. The idea is they want a non enity that knows less than Obama for Veep.

As it stands nothing is resolved yet. They still don't have the Veep lined up, nobody with any common sense in the Party really wants to fall on their sword for Obama. They all think he is a real whack job from Chicago.
