I hear this a lot from people I know that don't ride motorcycles...
My father has a 2003 HD road king, he ride really carefully (see: slow) most of the time. He told me he had a run off once going into a corner that he ended up not making. Everyone was fine, and once some speed got shaved off in the rough stuff, he just tipped over and hopped off. here is the conversation:
Me: went in with too much speed, huh?
Dad: yeah.
Me: did you stand yourself up putting too much front brake on?
Dad: front brake? no.. rarely use that...
Me: Wat?
Dad: I don't use the front brake hardly at all.
Me: your kidding, right? you know that over two thirds of your braking is in your front, right? you are trying to stop a 6oo pound motorcycle with only your rear brake? let me find the nearest MSF course to you ASAP...
