About two weeks ago my laptop started acting funny, seemed slower and it was messing up some applications. I have spy sweeper brand software along with CA virus protection and I use Windows Defender also. When I run spy sweeper I always get 10-20 items to be quarantined. Lately when I power up the computer and click on the Internet Explorer shortcut it loads fine but some of the toolbar is missing
For instance I have many " favorites " stored but the favorites icon is missing lately. If I restore my system to 8/7/08 for example the favorites icon reappears
I have restored back to 8/7 twice this week and it works for a few days and then the favorites icon disappears again. I run my virus program once a week, the spy sweeper almost daily and Defender 2-3 times a month. What's going on?
