Oxidized Paint: Dramatic results with clay bar and 3M rubbing! Check this out
I love before and afters... Today was nice and mild so I pulled the 87 out of the garage (it is running again, although still rough but we'll talk about that in another post) and gave it a nice long hand wash. Amazing the amount of crud that accumilated on that poor car after it sat for 3 years, well after that was done and she was rinsed and dried I carefully used the Mequiars clay bar on a could of areas, the top of the right front fender and the passenger side of the roof behind the sunroof. I then used the 3M rubbing compound with a small 100% cotton terry, I was so amazed I had to rush in and post these pictures. This is with hardly any time invested... I did not apply any wax or anything else, this is just what it looked like after I used the microfiber to buff the film of rubbing compound off...
