Wanted: A better online news source (not CNN.com)

I'm officially done with CNN. Yes, I know they're a liberal media outlet with marginal journalistic credibility, but up to now I've been able to look past that in order to find the occasional interesting tidbit of information. I've seen a marked deterioration in their content over the last few months/years - a lot of the stuff on their web site is now "video only" which I don't have the time, patience or desire to watch (not to mention it's usually riddled with commercial content, making it an even bigger time/bandwidth waster), etc.

However this morning I opened up their page to see what (if anything) of interest was going on out there and was greeted by this:

I understand that the DNC is newsworthy and probably deserves press - maybe even headline press (since evidently there's nothing new from the Brittany Spears camp this morning). That's fine. I don't even really have a problem with them posting a picture of (loser) Hitlary up there blathering about whatever she was blathering about. Fine. I'm willing to admit that's also newsworthy (more so to others than me, but fine). It bugs me that I have NEVER seen CNN.com use such a huge, eye-popping image and mega font-size since the day of the 9/11 attacks. So by default what they're saying is that Commie Hillary and her "message" is somehow just as of epic importance as 3,000 of our countrymen being killed in an attack by Islamic nutcases. I disagree with this. For crying out loud, she's not even the nominee - she LOST. I bet even Obama himself doesn't get this kind of attention.

I'll be a little bit presumptuous here and say that I'm willing to wager that CNN.com's coverage of the RNC next week is not greeted on their web site with NEARLY the same amount of fanfare and sensationalist horn-tooting. Probably just a caption under "other news" or something. Wouldn't surprise me.

So what site do you guys use to see what's going on in the world? Yahoo is okay usually I guess. Any other good ones?
