It is worth while recycling the following "non-metallic" materials due to either the replacement cost or the cost of disposal:
helium
sulfur hexafluoride
fluorinated and brominated hydrocarbons
acetone, ketones, alcohols and other similar organic solvents
carbides (cutting tools)
