Not that good IMHO. Several grocery stores have started to market the "choice" grade meat under their own label. For instance, Tom Thumb and Randall's started selling Ranchers Reserve several years ago.

Believe it or not you will find that sometimes these cuts are better than Angus. Look for the marbling and you can not go wrong.

If you run across a cut of meat marketed as Stirling Silver, I strongly recommend you buy it. I'm not sure if they carry it in your area or not, but that is what Salt Grass puts on the table in Dallas. I don't know how good the food is at Salt Grass, I've never been to one, but I see the lot is full most of the time. Winn Meat Co distributes the line. If any of you Dallas guys want to give it a try, let me know, I can get it straight from the plant.
