McCain has run an unconventional campaign. It used to be you had to be way out there on the right (or left if you're a dem) to get the nomination, because only the hard-core-base types voted in the primaries.
McCain actually started out middle-right to get the nomination and is now veering to the right to shore up the base.
Obama started out way left to get the nomination and is tracking to the middle for the general.
Now matter how you look at it, both candidates are navigating to the right!
