Not quite, if we're talking about values, either purported or potential.

The 30+ GTO's are practically serial production cars in comparison to the two remaining (of three built) Bugatti 57SC Atlantics.

The Williamson collection of 12 Bugattis brought over $15.5M last month at Gooding at Pebble.

Nice, but most notable was the car that wasn't included in the auction lot, the '35 57SC Atlantic that won the Pebble Beach concours overall in 2003.

Dr. Williamson passed away last June. He was gracious enough to let me crawl all over/under his car at Elkhart Lake in 2005 with a group of other Bugatti owners. He was driving in it in a tour of the original Elkhart Lake road course along with the rest of us in our far more modest cars. A couple of my photos from that day:

As noted here, while the family withheld the car from the Gooding sale at Pebble last month, it's estimated that the contemplated private sale of this 57SC could bring up to $50M, making it the most valuable (currently, and potentially anyway) car in the world by far.

Price and/or value notwithstanding, its a striking piece of coachwork and engineering.
