I have a 1997 with 68,000 miles for 9 years. I have not had "trouble" with the engne, just the usual stuff that is common to all years. Mine was made in January 1997. Lots of Boxsters in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I have only seen 2 older 1997s. One made in November 1996, and the other in December 1996. I know the owners of both as we have a local Boxster group.
Not that it matters but all 1997s were made in Germany. Starting with model year 1998 most of them were made in Finland by Valmet.
Give us some details on that low mileage 1997.
