It's great that we're getting some positive responses here . . . I'm hoping the other hundred people are just waiting to see how this is all going to develop before they jump in, so we need to begin laying down some details. As it stands, we have no plan, no car, no space to work on it and no means of transporting it to whatever locale required for painting/auctioning. As bleak as this may sound, it also means that it's all open for input.

In my opinion, the best plan would be to build the car likely to fetch the highest return based on our possible starting choices (to state the obvious). So, in lieu of dreaming big, we should likely start looking to see what type of shells/cars are available to fit within the budget which . . . would be nonexistent at this time. Hmm. This could be a problem, but I'm pretty certain there are members out there willing to donate a shell or sell one really cheap.

As far as donations are concerned (unless I'm mistaken, and please correct me if I am), we should be able to write off such gifts so long as all of the proceeds are going directly to a 501 (c) organization?

If you've got any ideas of what should be built (remember to stay grounded) or where this should be built, let's start the discussion here. It doesn't have to be California, but there seems to be a lot of Pelicans based in the SoCal region. (So I volunteered you all!)
