65 Tri a year for the world, 13.8 for the US and if you consider the EU as a whole they sit slightly above at 14.4

Oil Production

The US produces of 10% of the oil.

The US consumes approx 25%, EU not far behind.

Proven reserves

Looks like it's closer to about 1.6%. As expected, Middle east, Venezuela. Canada, and Russia are the bigger holders.

Other facts, US is the 2nd biggest importer behind the EU.


The scarier fact maybe the the Current Account Balance

What do all these numbers mean or imply? I don't really know. I guess it means the US likes to use oil but so does every other country. It would be interesting if someone had a table of oil consumption per capita.
