The reason why the 986/996 forums are dead is because they really aren't "enthusiast" models.
Sure some of us Porschephiles own them but the MAJORITY of those models are bought by people who don't have a Fn clue and simply own it as a status symbol. They aren't buying components from Pelican, Rennsport, Smart Racing etc etc to try to extract every ounce of performance from the vehicle... probably for the beter since the drivetrain can't hack it anyays. They arent doing DIY.
Again, I said MAJORITY.
My 1st peice of advice to this guy would have been not to purchase a Boxster, my second would be to find a competent mechanic because it seems like whomever is doing the work doesn't have a Fn clue, either.
