I'm looking at a set of 17" C2 Turbo wheels for my '86 widebody Carrera. I actually like how the C2 wheel accentuates the flares, whereas the fuchs seem to soften the flares. To me, the car looks more modern. Let me know what you think.
I weighed the 17" C2 Turbo style wheel/tire combination versus the 16" Fuch wheel/tire combination. The C2 Turbo combination is 14 lbs heavier per wheel. Wow, that was not expected. Is the weight of these C2 Turbo wheels an indication that they are aftermarket versus OEM? I find it hard to believe that an optional OEM wheel would be that much heavier than the 16" Fuchs.
Here is a picture of the inside of one of the 7.5" C2 Turbo wheels.
The wheels are also cast with "Made In Italy" and the number 418.74 is stamped on the inside as well. Notice the excess slag material that dripped into the channel between the top two wheel stud pillars. Again, this is something that I would not have expected from an OEM wheel.
