Does it bother you that people don't wear ties when on tv anymore?
This is a strange pet peeve of mine. I'm only 37, so I'm no old curmudgeon yet. But it chaps my hide to see people interviewed on news shows when they show up wearing a blazer with no tie, collar opened. Fox even has some weatherman now who wears no jacket at all and rolls his sleeves up. Is it that hot in the studio? I was watching Anderson Cooper tonight, who is always well-dressed (being the son of Gloria Vanderbilt, I expect it of him). And he had on Andy Serwer to talk about Wall St. Andy was not wearing a tie. How is anyone taken seriously when they show up on tv to talk about high finance and are dressed like a boob? Fox's hosts are usually pretty formal during the week and I don't mind that some of their folks are more casual on Saturday shows. Anyway, I have to vent. I can't imagine showing up to be on tv to talk as an authority on something and expect to be taken seriously without looking like I would whe I meet with a client.
