the unit is 10 not 6a. 75 archery tags in the middle of the rut. lots to do and see as far we are concerned. finding them is a herculean feat. letting the air outta juan so it falls within a few miles is beyond belief in our book. hell nailing juan so it drops w/a mcmillian .338 26" barrel w/ 250 gr. moly bullets is off the charts.
elk hunting........about the hardest damn thing you will ever do aside from joining the marines!
since weather is a huge factor in this unit, i have had juan previous bull tag there many many moons ago, we like to scout alot, or as reasonable as possible. if its hot........elk stay on bill williams mtn. and surrounding pines. if its getting cold, meaning drifts and yer dressed like the michelin man, well they will go down into the junipers and then its door to door searching unless you like sitting at waterholes all day(a hell of alot of tanks here). not a lot of elevation in unit to just sit and glass and then go pop juan.
right now we are focusing on the area north of I-40, williams to ash fork. why? access in the event of heavy snow. farmers almanac predicting wet winter here. roads turn to slush/mush/mung/gook/slime and it doesnt matter if ya got a range rover disco, a humvee, a trophy truck, chained up, lockered jeep....................YOU AINT GOING NOWHERE!!!!! jes picture GLAZED DONUTS FOR TIRES!
quads fair about an iota above the aforementioned. feets dont fail me now!
as far as the pic, fergot my camera sorry. this was one nice 6x6 "toad" for archery.
