You really need the pressure test kit to know for sure if its the warm up regulator, i doubt the accumulator would cause it to die, the accumulator could cause it to be very hard to start warm. but again, the pressure test kit will verify all this. Its worth the 60-80 bucks before you start spending several hundred on remove and replace.
Im thinking failing CID, on mine and probably yours. Keep me posted since my 1981 is similiar to yours.
