You didn't say if that's offensive or defensive tackle. On offense, make sure you know your assignments, have a good stance (you'd be amazed at how much a bad stance gives away the play), listen for audibles, and DON'T FORGET THE SNAP COUNT!! I played for 3 seasons in HS and 4 in college with the same crappy 1/2 T-shirt (it was lucky). By the time I was done with it, it was a church shirt (it was Holy). Worry less about your gear, and make sure you know what you're doing out there. The gear won't make you faster, smarter or play better.

Seriously. Our O-line coach would harp at us at practice if our toes were even the slightest bit crooked. Not to mention randomly swiping our down hands out. Lord help you if you fell on your face...
Another tip for the 'big' leagues: make sure you know the entire lines' responsibilities.
