I'd have to check with Mark but assume it was a 'standard' tire.
Seems to be a .30-30 round, likely Remington. Likely was run over a few times before being picked up. Given the round nose of that cartridge should have made it more difficult to penetrate (compared to a FMJ) but then *#@% happens. The primer is mostly undamaged but doubt if much damage would result if it had ignited.
