Since you have to bring it up. What excactly does the HP2 offer for it's ridiculous price? Other than it is a gorgious bike I personally would love to own? The performance doesn't warrant it. The suspension bits are good, but not exorbitant. So basically you're paying $24k for a lot of carbon fiber and bragging rights.

The Desmosedici on the other hand is a no compromise hardcore racebike with a license plate holder. It's got the power, the weight, the CF and everything else. Hell, the front and rear suspension bits alone retail for about ¾ of the price of the HP2.

Looking objectively at what you get for your money as a gearhead, without emotion or preference, the Desmosedici offers a lot more value for your money than the HP2. At $66k it is a bargain compared to the HP2. With the Desmosedici, you are buying a piece of motorcycle racing history. With the HP2, you are buying, well, a very expensive BMW.
