With the "invention" of the pop off valve, this stainless upgrade is a pretty silly idea. It is probably heavier than the plastic. Maybe it was invented back when the air boxes would explode.

Unless you need a new air box anyway, why bother?

I would disagree, from my experience I have had nothing but trouble with my pop-off valve. I have spent good money getting my CIS in top shape. Plastic to me doesn't seem to be the way to go. I have read several posts with people w/plastic boxes w/pop-offs that have either cracked or exploded. IMHO this seems like a better design.
