I dynoed the 944max chip for my 88, got about 1.9hp and 2tq. over stock. The timing advance makes the car feel a touch more responsive. My guess is that is about all you will get with a chip unless you want to run a race gas chip with crazy timing advance. I've also had the Authority chip in my car and the previous owner had a Eurorace chip, both in our opinion made no difference (couldn't give you a dyno number on those)

- oh, and I should add that I had a '89 S2 with the Autothority chip in as well and I did notice a slight better low/mid range response over stock, but please don't believe claims of 10+ hp gains with any of the N/A chips.
