I had really good results with the basic MSD 6A on a completely different type of engine (old points ignition, 4-banger, British).
My low end cruising (in my stock 4.5 CIS) is not all that smooth. Didn't see anyone else talking about the MSD for the mechanical fuel injection on this board.

IMO it did not make much difference, at least that I could tell. I went with it for the N2O so I could run a larger gap with a stronger spark for a better burn. I had it on before the N2O was installed and I could not tell a big difference. The stock ignition is already a CD type set up, so Porsche was on the ball to begin with. With the new cams and running close to 7000rpms it may be better, combined with the better coil and wires I have.

BTW, have you weighed the CF hood yet? Andrew Olson bought one and found that it actually weighed more than the stock hood. If your after the CF look there are alot of vinyl applique's (sic) that are available. You could use that on your mirrors for instance.

The CF hood weighed about the same as the stock hood. I will weigh it again now that it has the scoops, but at the time I think it was about 11 pounds before the hood liner was added. I think the stock hood is around 12 or 13 pounds? I remember it was only about 1 or 2 pounds since the stock hood is so light to begin with. Not really worth it unless you want the cosmetic look of it. Mine came as a factory second with a couple light scratches in it. It was cheap so I went for it. Scratches buffed out for the most part.
The scoops are just riveted in so I can try them both directions one weekend and see if the car feels different pushing or pulling air. At 80mph, that could be a good bit of air pushing down, hadn't thought of it that way prior.
