What a pain... but you know, I bet they were having a hell of a laugh while they were doing it. Not saying it's OK, just saying that for a 4-5 year old, throwing dirty diapers at running chickens might be just about the funniest damn thing in the world.
Still worth addressing, but probably with a bit of humor. (I like Jeremy's idea)
I don't have kids (yet), but I sure like to spend time with my niece or with my friends' kids. Sometimes the stuff they get into is hilarious, and they get an incredible thrill out of simple things.
On saturday my wife's friend stopped by with her 5 yr old son. My wife and her friend were having coffee, and I was just getting ready to wash down my boat when he came up to me and asked if there was anything fun to do. No toys, he doesn't like dogs... but we had some rotten apples and some eggs well past their best before date.
"Would you like to throw eggs and rotten apples at my boat?"
What a hoot... he just about fell over laughing a couple times. By the time we got to the eggs, he was laughing so hard I was worried he'd pee himself. He even helped clean it all off afterward, so I didn't feel like I made a total delinquent out of him.
