Similar story to some of these a long time ago. Parking lot - coming straight at me. Figured they would stop..... Nice impact similar to the original picture in this thread. Turned out to be a two year old who was standing in the drivers seat and turned the ignition. Cars made today don't allow that, thank God. But the panicing mother didn't think to: - Keep the kid away from the controls in the first place
- Pull up the parking brake
- Turn OFF the ignition
- Push the gear shift out of gear - duh!
All I could hope for was that the father gave the mom a dope slap when he came back to the car - no, he blamed me for not getting out of the way and then let me know they didn't have insurance. I let the police know that child endangerment would be a reasonable charge. Don't quite know what happened afterward......my car was driveable.
