The gun carry thread got me thinking. I have some granola bars and space blankets in the trunk of my daily driver, but when the BIG bell rings with a 7.8 or better what contingency plans do you El Aye and Frisco (I know you hate that term) guys have to get home from work. For me it's 23 miles from Burbank to Santa Clarita (Newhall). I'm thinking a backpack with food bars, sunblock, a hat and coat (in case it happens in January; it can get to the low 30s at night in the winter). I wear tennis shoes everyday and jeans. I'm thinking about one of my 9mm or a 380 ACP. Worst comes to worst, I think I could walk up the I-5 from Burbank to Newhall in about 12-14 hours. God forbid I'm at one of my shows in Manhattan Beach or Lancaster (about 50 miles each).
OK to post about home earthquake plans. I'm going to buy a Honda 2000 watt generator soon for my pop up camper, which will also power at least on refrigerator.
