Hmm, that's a pretty interesting idea Kevin, I might have to look at the wiring a bit closer for that. I don't know where the fan kicks in temp-wise, but I have always assumed the fan is only helping at low speeds or when standing still. I would think that when you're at speed the fan may actually reduce cooling efficiency because it blocks off some of the surface of the oil cooler.
I am still toying with the idea of doing a front (center) oil cooler, but I will probably wait a while to do that. If I do it right I should be able to pay for most of that modification by selling the stock cooler, fan et al.
