I decided to start removing screws... came apart with no problems. There was actually less dust than I was hoping for, but still a fair amount. The mirror was hazy. Cleaned it all up and left off the Mitsubishi "Diamond Shield," which is basically a big piece of tinted pelxiglass. I was able to back off the controls a bit. This probably bought us a couple of more years with the TV. Thanks for all the help.
