I work for the big phone company that starts with an A and ends with a T. In my group in July we laid off over 200 people just in Orange County. Now they were contractors and knew they had a limited time but it was about one year earlier than they thought. We are now trying to get as much done without them and of course it doesn't work. For example the engineering group went from about 130 down to 12
. I was not affected nor were any union employees but it will be interesting to see what next year brings!
