It sounds like we experienced the exact same problem!!!

Runs like crap above 5K rpm, but the malfunction codes never indicate the MAF.

I have cleaned the MAF twice and it does improve the engine performance.

Since I can't for the life of me figure out the common point between suposedly running rich, and lean at the same time I am at a dead end.

I throughly checked for vacuum leaks and found none.

I am done cranking around trying to figure this one out. Going to order a new MAF sensor tonight.

I will definitely provide an update when I get the new Sensor.
