I PAinted my wheels with DUpli-color "Metal effects" paint. A dark gunmetal with silver flakes. Almost black. It has a slightly textured finish which hides a lot of flaws. I have gotten more compliments on the wheels than I can count. And a touch up job is $6.
Light sanding, 2 good primer coats, and 2 coats of paint. Finished off with a light coat of clear. $20 total and maybe an hour a wheel.
