I (somehow) ended up taking care of my room mate's friend's dog for like...2 months. Overall she's a great dog, but is starting to get spots where she's loosing fur. There's one on her face, behind her eye, on her right front shoulder, mid-section of her back on her spine, on her right rear thigh, and I think under her chin. They don't seem to be getting any better. The owner took her to the vet the other day and said they told him it was fleas, but I'm not sure about that. She sleeps with me every night, and has for the past month. Wouldn't I then, also have fleas? Also, I've brushed her multiple times with a flea brush and it always come out clean. She also gets bathed once a week.

My room mate and I are starting to think it's Mange, and that the owner never took her to the vet in the first place. The hairless spot on her right front shoulder has black dots all over the skin. I can get some pictures when she wakes up, but they'll be crappy cell phone pics.

I'm taking her to the vet (again) tomorrow, but would like a Pelican Vet's second opinion.
