I currently have my family forums on a free site but I would like to move to something a little more robust. BlueHost seams to have the balance I'm looking for but I was hoping some of you guys had tried it before I drop the cash on it.

Honestly, get everyone on Facebook and keep your accounts private, only allow visibility within your group.
Lets you blog, post pictures, videos, update your status wherever you have an internet connection.
The youngsters in your family will already be familiar and much more apt to stay in contact.
No programming, no maintenance, oh yeah, and free.
