What about red squirells? I have one in my garage and he seems to be quite comfy in there (along with the mice - I believe they hold a poker game every Thursday night). I think that a glue trap would be insufficient for such a large critter. I've tried finding/blocking any large entrances and exits, but he seems to still find his way in.
I've heard black pepper may be effective as well, but have yet to try it. And what about those sonic do-dads that supposedly emmit high-frequency sounds that rodents don't like?
