In Wyoming a few years back, we were moving along the highway from 1 side of the unit to the other. F&G has the highway blocked as 6-7 bulls move from Blactail Butte back to the Snake River Gorge...9:30 a.m. Regs state you must be 1 mile from highway to discharge firearm. Elk cross hiway, dipschits a few cars in front pull over...in front of the F&G get out and start blasting @ the Elk. Knock down 1, wound another. Could NOT believe what I was seeing...passed back thru an hour later, those guys ALL being hauled away.
If the wx is nice, the AZ DFG runs a plane at nite to check for spotlighters.
Nothing better in December than Elk chili, cold beer and football game...I'm VERY jealous!!!
