I don't spend much time up there, but I saw a closed steel mill around Pittsburgh a few years ago. Holly cow that was a big building!
I don't think anyone wants the US car companies to fail, not even the Japanese, but a bail out seems like it would just continue the current problems.
The volatile fuel prices seem to be the biggest outside contributor to the problem. It's time to raise fuel tax.
