Go find the Blueridge parkway and go south.
On the weekends, you'll find some vineyards. If you are willing to drive up 81 to Front Royal, there is a VERY good vineyard called Linden.
When I used to hang in Roanoke, the ONLY decent club was the Marriot. Of course, this was 1988...But it was hot and so were the cuties! I think they have re-done the downtown area with a bar scene, which didn't exist when I was last there.
