OK, it's not what you think, and probably is a better subject for OT, but here in Western Illinois a lone white pelican was recently rescued, it apparently could not join its buddies in migrating south due to an injured wing. Well, some local animal rescue experts are rehabilitating it inside a volunteer's garage and it hopefully will be able to be released in the spring when the flock comes back through on its way up north to summer fishing habitat.
Meanwhile, the hungry pelican is going through about three pounds of minnows a day and donations are being accepted for it's care during rehabilitation.

Flocks of hundreds of these birds come through twice a year as they migrate. They really are quite a sight and a fine-looking bird.
