Lots of good advice here but I will add my two cents:
You know you would miss the 930...a lot. The e28 5 series and e30 3 series are the ones that pull my heart strings too, so I totally get it. But...you'll miss the 930...a lot.
I think the "get a beater" suggestion is the best one. If you have no hassle street or driveway parking at your home, that would work well. Takes the pressure off your DIY work on the 930.
