Aren't brands a bit silly in the world of cycling?
Its the Chinese vs Mexican vs American stratocaster business all over again.
Here are 3 bicycles all with the same brand name. The low end cruiser they make is made in China. Their midrange bikes are made in Taiwan or Korea, and their highend bikes are 'made' in the USA. I say 'made' because most of the components (including the carbon frame) are made in China, its just slapped together here with a Made In The USA sticker on it.
For all except the true biking nuts (like myself), I don't see how brand is relevant anymore for the average consumer.
