I'll be looking at a '99 R1100S next weekend pending the predicted rain. Searching through this forum I see reports of transmission problems with that year. Some later year owners also say that models from before 2002 or even 2004 are prone to breaks on the frame in certain parts.
I'd like to hear opinions and experiences of people who own '99 models. Are "tranny tab breaks" really that common? What other issues have you experienced?

The bike has 21k miles, cases, heated grips, no damage, and is stock otherwise. He's asking $6400. Looking around this seems a bit on the high side but not totally out of range. Do you agree?
