57 K on my 99. It has never been back to the shop in the five years I have owned it. However, I have changed the alt. belt and fuel filter as per reccomended maint. I had an intermittant "open" and the guys in this room steered me to a defective ignition switch. Must be common as local dealer had one in stock. Had a dash bulb burn out so while I was in there I replaced all of them and currently my hi/lo headlightis out.
All oils are synthetic in my bike, K&N filter, 41 PSI in both tires and it gets 52 MPG at 70 MPH. Almost ten years old and almost everytime I get gas someone walks up and wants to talk about it.
When the temp is below 85 F I can run 87 octane with no problem. I run "sea foam" fuel additive about every fourth tankfull.
