Got back home around 7:00pm tonight(Sunday). Pretty uneventfull car wise. Didn't even use a quart of oil in almost 1500 miles of driving. I took the southern route going. Got caught in major traffic problem in Birmingham. I 65 south was shut down so I had to go through town to I 20. Took over an hour. Everything else was good. Coming back I took the northern route which just had to include "The Tail of the Dragon" . This was my first trip on it. No traffic to speak of. Too cold for motorcycles and I only got behind two other vehicles and they let me pass. I met a Corvette and two trucks in the oncoming traffic. It was so cold I was afraid my summer tires might be a little hard but they did good enough to have a little fun. By the time I got to Knoxville the temp was close to the twenties. Not good for a car with headers. By the time I got home my feet were chunks of ice...but I was still smiling.
Porsche G.I It was great getting to meet you and your super cute kids. I'm glad you recomended IHOP. I wish we could have gone driving but oh well. I didn't get to go over to Pope to meet JM Shepard and E Porsche. Josh and one of his buddies decided to take his Jeep through a mud hole. A little deeper than they thought... When they finally got back they look like drowned, muddy rats...but grinnin'. It was almost 3:00 and I didn't think I could get inspected twice and then find them before they were gone.
Thanks to everyone who offered help and their numbers. I'm soooo glad I didn't have to test anyone

.
I didn't have a chance to take many pictures (except of my grandaughter

) but I will post the ones I did take tomorrow. The camera is in the car and it's too d@^n cold to go back out to get it tonight. I'm sure glad he's home safe and I hope the same for those of you who have son's and daughter's and brothers and sisters deployed and at home. This was a great Christmas present to me!!
