CAUTION - GRATUITOUS SELF CONGRATULATION AND SHAMELESSNESS AHEAD.
So, we played a show this summer and did a 10-camera shoot, multitracked with an audio truck, for possible DVD release. The original intent was to record the whole show and take the best 90 minutes or so. Since, in my other life, I mix records, I got hired on the side to also mix the audio.
Well, after we recorded it, we decided to just go ahead and release the WHOLE 3 hour, 5 minute show; which includes a dual-layer DVD and two CDs.
So, I mixed the whole 3+ hours in stereo and 5.1. Took about 250 hours in front of the computer.
It turned out ok; I don't really think I would want to watch ANY band for 3 hours, but it's a 'hardcore fan' kind of product. There isn't really anything else these days.
It is pretty interesting because since the show was so long, it starts in the afternoon and gets progressively darker every song. Fun for the viewer, nightmare for the Video guy.
But, it's off to print and will be back in January for our winter trips.

Didn't make it in time for Christmas, though.
Anyway, here's a crappy youtube clip, if you're interested. The audio is in mono, so you can't really get a full grasp on
my magnificence.
Now, I can mess with cars and stuff. The motor's going back in the '72 in the next few weeks, with any luck.
