It's a little worse than Skiers thumb, my son actually managed to break his thumb while ski race training.

Right now he's got a pretty heavy glass splint on it. He's pretty much resigned to the fact that he has to skip the balance of wrestling season, but wants to continue to ski race.

Anyone seen a light weight splint, or had a custom athletic splint made??
