I haven't seen a 928 yet that needed what might be called a tuneup. Rough running is usually some combination of vacuum, wiring, failed sensors or some actuator. No gas cap would have me point the first finger at contaminated gas, water, dirt etc.
Fuel tank is a big $1k plastic thing that hangs from a metal bracket in or near the portion with the filler neck.
