Actually it is very EZ.
As I understand , he is not crossing a border in a trunk of a car or through the woods and doesn't look like he is coming w/out nothing.
So one way or another he's coming legally in to a country. Visa status? It can be adjusted - 175$ ( if I remember correctly) or through the marriage he will get Green Card. Once they married it is very simple and does not take that much time to get "Employment Authorization" card. You shouldn't be worry about him getting a job over here. If he is giving up a "great" job and selling his house - he'll have funds to support him self and hopefully your sister for a while.
I would be more into " how my sister feels about it? what she is thinking? how long she knows the guy" and.....
